Our clients came to our design team with a completely blank slate for their new home’s backyard. They had recently completed their spacious new home & had inherited a massive lot with tons of potential. They always dreamed of having a resort-style pool/landscape & now finally had the room to bring it to life. They desperately wanted a one-of-a-kind pool/spa, plenty of outdoor lounge space, an outdoor kitchen island, & lush landscaping to surround the entire property.
We first began with the pool design & spa design. This would give us a direction for the overall layout & flow of the entire landscape. We knew the pool design needed to be in-scale with the grandness of the home. We also wanted to create a pool design that was not only enjoyable to swim in but also a pool design that created a one-of-a-kind focal point for the entire backyard. In order to reach these design goals, we created a spacious, curvilinear pool design that moved through the space & offered so much more than just a place to chill out.
Our final pool design featured a gorgeous, curved retaining wall that created the backdrop for the pool design. It comes to life with richly colored natural stone veneer & decorative metal scuppers for a truly unique water feature effect. We elevated the spa so that it creates yet another element of falling water within the pool design. The raise of the spa also creates additional seating around the perimeter. We elevated two sides of the pool to create lounge decks that add to the grandness of the overall layout. We also wanted something unique for the pool deck so we opted for a sand-finish concrete with diamond joints that gives it the look of oversized pavers.
Next, we focused on the outdoor living space areas. We added a roaring custom fire pit that brings the always exciting element of fire into the landscape. We also created a spacious outdoor kitchen island that offers plenty of room for cooking & entertaining guests! The next crucial addition to the patio space was to create an roomy lattice pergola to create a generous pattern of shade for our clients & their guests. Right off of the main patio space we also added another water element by featuring a gorgeous, concrete precast fountain.
When we started to focus on the general landscape design, beyond the pool design, we wanted to really accentuate the spacious feel of the property. We used synthetic turf thatch to create a lush green throughout the landscape. We also added a large putting green area so that our clients have a playful getaway right in their own backyard. We added a generous helping of beautiful plants, shrubs & trees to naturally decorate the property’s perimeter.
At the end of the construction, our clients were thrilled that the pool & landscape they always dreamed about was finally right outside their backdoor.
