Front Yard Facelift

Front Yard Makeover

Our clients had always been dissatisfied with the “curb appeal” of their front yard. They desperately wanted a garden design that would set their house apart from the rest of the block. Their front yard did boast a beautiful, well-established Olive tree & our clients were interested in keeping with a Mediterranean/tropical garden theme.

Our garden design focused on adding layers of textures & colors to the landscape design that would uniquely draw your eye. First, we cut the turf footprint down by roughly one-third. This gave us more freedom in our planting beds to add lush plantings. This also helped cut down on the garden’s water consumption.

Next, we created a beautiful planting palette filled with succulents, tropical palms, & drought tolerant plants. Our clients loved the rich colors of the Agaves, Aloes, Kangaroo Paw, & lantana. All of these varieties add striking colors & textures to the landscape design & are very drought tolerant.

In addition to the new planting palette, we added a series of pots in strategic locations to change elevation & add character. In particular, we added a pair of classic terra cotta pots to the front entry. We also added a dynamic, red ceramic pot to a neighboring planter bed that added structure to the landscape design.

Now our clients have a beautiful garden design that is uniquely their own & definitely the envy of the neighborhood!
